A step forward...

After the last experimenting album, I was unsure what to expect out of this. Jewel claimed that this album volition be going back to the good old days...

So, I was starting to listen to the anthology with hesitation, which vanished afterwards 3-4 songs, that showed that I was non going to listen to a strange pop vocal anytime before long.Does this make this album good...??? NO!

This album is equavalent to the "Spirit" album, which is a step forward, but the songs are bromidic and uncalled for in some occasions. Some are trying over again to push the album forward, but they are staying in the shadow of the rest of them boring songs.

Highlights: Again and Once more, Satellite, Only One As well, 1000 Miles Abroad.

Gem has a really nice singing vox. The more mellow songs are really soothing, and pretty much the whole album rings with an unusual air of honesty.
I peculiarly dig "Good Day" and "Long Slow Slide" in that account.

All in all, I liked this album more than than I was expecting. While some songs really get on my nerves, at that place are some accented gems in here.

Great album of 2006! I like the song "Goodbye" the unmarried from the anthology. This is her dorsum to basics album.

Unsurprisingly, this was kinda atrocious. Peradventure she should get popstar again. This was simply boring, more than of the same. She should really just get back to the little acoustic songs. Those were nice. This is big and polished simply rarely shines. I besides hate when she does the talking thing.

Having avoided the awful 0304 fiasco I was hesitant to check out this album but was given a re-create for a birthday and must say it is one of my favourite Gem albums. Favourite tracks Long irksome slide, last dance rodeo and stephenville TX. Jewel back to doing what I loved her doing in the beginning identify although with slightly less innocence, simply an enjoyable anthology none the less.

Well, "0304" certainly sucked hardcore, and with this album "Goodbye Alice...." Jewel makes a chip of an attempt to return to her original fan base.

She almost pulls it off. A couple of skilful tracks here including: Over again and Once more, the title rail, and Drive to You.

The rest is pretty much boring drivel.

Jewel surely has an amazing voice and knows how to write good lyrics. But well, she doesn't know how to write good melodies and the few ones she has, she just keeps repeating similar ones.

The first half is good: "Again and Again" is such a happy sing-along pop guilty pleasance. The title-track and "Good Mean solar day" are nice strokes, while "Only One Too" lights the listening with a more rocking style. After "Words get in the fashion", it becomes tedious.

It'southward a shame, since the good voice and the skillful lyrics are wasted.

Baw-rinngg! The opening track "Again and Again" is confusing, because information technology sounds exactly similar Fiona Apple. The balance of the album is fifty-fifty more confusing, because it is hardly even that adept. The rockers, especially "Simply One Too", sound great in this context, but without the context they are naught special. The context matters considering so many of the songs on Farewell Alice in Wonderland are so slow and tiresome. In fact, Jewel Kilcher is not a decent music writer. The production is even more boring. It is mostly articulate on "Frail Heart": a re-recorded 0304 choice, the new version being enormously worse than the original. "Where You Are" has a cute chorus melody, but even that doesn't stand up out. Song titles similar "Drive to You lot" and "Stephenville, TX" show whom this anthology is directed to. The people of USA. Come on and move to Europe, Precious stone! Nosotros liked 0304 here. I say bring back 0304, bring back life!
